Ayios Vasileios, Laconia, Sector III

The research project “Ayios Vasileios, Laconia-Sector III. Deciphering a new Mycenaean palace in spacious Lacedaemon” became possible thanks to its inclusion in the 1st Call to Support Postdoctoral Researchers, announced by the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation in 2017. The program started on September 5, 2018 and ended on March 4, 2022. The scientific responsible of the program was Dr. Nektarios Karadimas. The program took place at the Department of History - Archeology of the University of Crete. The Institutions and Organisations that supported the project were five: the Archaeological Society at Athens to which the excavation belongs, the University of Crete where the research project took place, the Ephorate of Antiquities of Laconia which is responsible for all archaeological material and finally the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation and the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation, which funded the program.
